Parentesi

Designed by Achille Castiglioni and Pio Manzù in 1971, this lamp runs on a steel cable stretched from ceiling to floor. A shaped steel tube, painted or nickel-plated, slides along the cable so the light can be raised or lowered, while the black elastomer fixture head houses the switch and gives direct light. The result is a spare, flexible piece of engineering for the home.
