2097/30 Chandelier

Gino Sarfatti drew on the traditional Venetian chandelier for this suspension, conceived in 1958 and stripped to its essence. Brass arms radiate from a central steel structure, each holding an exposed bulb, and the visible wiring is the only decoration: technology embraced rather than concealed. Thirty bare lamps give a soft, diffused light, making the piece both a working light and an architectural statement.
